5 Minute (Healthy!) Homemade Ice Cream

Jackson arrived home from school yesterday and wanted a treat. We try to limit how much sugar the kids consume so initially I wasn’t inclined to say yes. But since we’ve been experiencing unseasonably warm weather where we live something cold sounded perfect. We were out of popsicles but we did have a couple frozen bananas…

We blended 3 frozen bananas img_5201with 1/3 cup of milk (we used almond milk)img_5202 until smooth…img_5204 (my blender is on the verge of dying so it was a couple minutes before our ice cream was ready) and wow! SO tasty, creamy and sweet without the sugar and food dyes that are in so many frozen treats. We sprinkled a couple chocolate chips on top and enjoyed every bite!
