Welcome to Busy Nothings Mom!
Thank you for reading my blog! One of my favorite authors, Jane Austen, once observed, “Life seems but a quick succession of busy nothings.” Busy Nothings Mom is a lifestyle blog where I discuss the busy nothings of life- motherhood, marriage, making your house a home, and healthy living.
Motherhood is often an intensely busy season of life, but we were meant for more than simply surviving. In the midst of the “quick succession of busy nothings” we were made to thrive and live a rich and satisfying life. My prayer is that this blog will encourage you to love God, love your family and find joy in the busy nothings.
I am a follower of Christ and have been married to Michael for 8 years. We have 3 children: Jackson (6), Kate (4) and Lynleigh (2). After being homeschooled from kindergarten through high school, I enrolled in paralegal school and graduated with a certificate in paralegal studies. I worked in various positions in state government until 2013, when I decided to take a much-needed break from work to finish college. In 2014 I graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice and discovered we were expecting our 3rd child. It was at this time that we decided it was in the best interest of our family for me not to currently pursue a full-time job. The four years I stayed home were, by far, some of the most challenging and rewarding years I have experienced. In January 2017 I was offered a part-time position with the flexibility our family needs. My husband is a career firefighter and our schedule looks different every week.
I began blogging in 2015 thanks to the encouragement of my husband and a mentor who told me I needed an outlet (thank you, Mike and Lynn!). While I was never been bored as a mom, I needed a personal hobby I could enjoy in this season of mothering littles (you know, something more than watching The Office). I discovered I love blogging and am thankful for the friendships I have developed through this little blog.
