I think my kids were *slightly* freaked out when they arrived at the breakfast table only to discover 3 kernels of corn in their bowls. We had a (very) brief talk about how this was often the only food each pilgrim was allotted during their first winter here. Hey – if nothing else it made them veeeeery excited when I served their real breakfast.
We spent the rest of Thanksgiving with Mike’s family. 10 of the 12 siblings were home (yes, he comes from a BIG family!) and we had a wonderful time visiting with everyone. The kids loved playing with their cousins and hanging out at Memaw and Papaw’s house!
As we wind down from a simple, fun Thanksgiving day, I want to stop and thank all of you. I have been truly blown away by the kind words and encouragement from the readers of my blog. I am a very private person, at heart, so blogging is a stretch for me. But time and time again I have had friends share how a post encouraged them and I truly appreciate it more than you will ever know.
This Thanksgiving I am thankful …
- For my husband, who has loved me through 7 years of marriage, 3 pregnancies (and postpartum craziness), 3 moves and other fun adventures. He works 2 jobs so I can stay at home with our kids and has made me feel like what I do is far more valuable than any “job.”
- The three little people who call me mommy.
- The house we are making a home. I still can’t believe I have my “dream house.”
- My mom, who continually invests in our children. We are very grateful you now live near us.
Praying you all have a wonderful weekend! May your leftovers be delicious and may you score amazing deals tomorrow!
