The Beauty of Hope

I’m only 3 days into my She Reads Truth Bible study, but I’m hooked. The app is easy to navigate and I love starting my day with something positive. I was in a rut with my spiritual life. Reading the Bible felt like a chore and (to be honest) I wasn’t getting much out of whatever I read.

Making it a priority to start the day with positive inspiration makes a huge difference in the way I respond to life. I’m currently reading the “In Everything Give Thanks ” study. Today these words from Diana Stone caught my attention:
“Sisters, it’s okay to be sad. But we know Jesus who died for us in love and rose again in love, so that all that is broken can be redeemed, so that in the midst of terrible pain we can know this isn’t all there is.”
Hope. Sometimes even holding on to hope seems audacious. To hope makes me vulnerable to disappointment and pain. To hope in the midst of a painful situation …
That is faith.
That is trust.
That is courage.
Giving up is easy. How often do I refuse to hope, simply because I am afraid? To continue to hope for something that may or may not happen… That is truly trusting God.

“Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.” I Cor. 13:7
