Two Things You Need When You’re Sick

Happy Monday! I hope your week is off to a good start. We’re still moving slowly around here, but feeling a little better. As I’ve been under the weather the past week I have been so thankful for two things.  Coconut water and homemade Gatorade are wonderful, natural ways to replace your electrolytes without added preservatives and artificial coloring. Sipping on these two drinks has helped my recovery from a stomach bug so much. While it’s very important to replace your electrolytes while you’re sick, regular sports drinks are often full of unhealthy preservatives, sugar and food dye. Homemade Gatorade

1 quart coconut water (or cooled herbal tea)

¼ tsp Himalayan pink salt (or you can use seas salt or regular salt)

¼ cup juice (apple, grape, etc.)

2-3 Tbsp stevia, honey or agave nectar

Consume within 3 days. Otherwise you can freeze it and enjoy as needed.
